Feclab faecal testing offers a safe, accurate way to check whether your cat or dog actually has worms or Giardia before giving any treatments. Instead of routine chemical worming, these tests allow you to send a stool sample to a specialist laboratory, where experts examine it for parasite eggs, cysts, and antigens. This means you only treat your pet when needed, reducing unnecessary chemical exposure and supporting long‑term gut health.

Each kit includes everything you need, plus a prepaid envelope so you can post your sample directly to the lab.

  • Put on disposable gloves before handling your dog’s stool.
  • Use the sample pot provided in your kit.
  • Collect a fresh sample about the size of a teaspoon.
  • Avoid contamination with grass, soil, bedding, or cleaning products.
  • Seal the pot tightly to prevent leaks.
  • Place the pot into the protective packaging supplied.
  • Fill out the information form with your dog’s details.
  • Remove your gloves and dispose of them immediately.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly afterwards.
  • Place everything into the prepaid envelope ready for posting.
  • Place the sample pot and completed form into the prepaid envelope included in your kit.
  • Post it in any Royal Mail postbox the same day if possible.
  • Samples should ideally be sent Monday–Thursday to avoid weekend delays.
  • No stamp is needed — postage is already covered.
  • Your sample arrives at Feclab’s specialist laboratory.
  • A trained technician examines it using microscopy and/or antigen testing (depending on the test).
  • You receive a clear, easy‑to‑understand report by email.
  • The report explains:
    • Whether parasites were found
    • What type
    • The level of infection
    • Whether treatment is recommended
  • If treatment is needed, you can choose the correct wormer or Giardia treatment based on the results.

This process ensures your dog is treated only when necessary, avoiding unnecessary chemicals and supporting better long‑term gut health.
